If you love eating out, or if you are planning a trip to a new country, then you will love vegan food festivals. They are becoming more popular every year, and for good reason. At one of these festivals you can sample many different types of foods from around the world. It doesn’t matter if you are new to the diet or if you have been on it for years. There is something for everyone at one of these amazing vegan food festivals.
The best part of these festivals is that I can eat whatever I want without having to worry about the ingredients. I also love watching plant-based foods being cooked on TV and YouTube. There is something special about seeing these foods being prepared live. It’s an exciting, immersive experience.
Here are some of my favorite vegan food festivals. They’re huge, fun events filled with plant-based food and entertainment.
Vegfest
The first vegan food festival that you should attend takes place in London, United Kingdom. VegFest is one of the largest gathering of vegan enthusiasts in the UK. You will be able to taste some incredible food made entirely from plant-based ingredients, such as curry, beetroot, mushroom soup, and vegetable ragout.
There is also live entertainment, demonstrations, and plenty of photo opportunities. The vegan food festival runs until the wee hours of the morning, so you have plenty of time to enjoy yourself.
Sydney Vegan Market
If you are planning on traveling down under, you should plan on doing a little research as to which of the many festivals you can attend if you make a trip out to Australia. Aussies are not only known for their love of raw vegan foods, but they also happen to be some of the healthiest people on the planet. It should come as no surprise that the vegan diet has been growing in popularity in Australia. There are many vegan food festival events in Western Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland.
The best of these is the Sydney Vegan Market, a monthly event that brings together some of Australia’s best vegan recipes. Most of the vegans who attend come back over and over again. Each event has its own unique offering, and unbelievable food and events.
Vegandale
Lastly, one of the biggest vegan festivals in the United States is the Vegandale festival in New York city. During the Vegandale Festival people from all around the world gather to eat healthy vegan food and shop for new and unique products. They purchase fair trade items, local produce, organic clothing, and many other specialties not available in their country.
If you are interested in learning more about veganism, you can attend a variety of lectures, demonstrations, and talks, as well as participate in the festival’s numerous activities and contests. Many visitors come to the Vegandale Festival to eat and shop. Some of the most popular food booths at the festival include healthy cooking classes, Pies From the Kitchen, The Art of Shaping Beans, and healthy treats on a stick.
There are also several farmer’s markets around the area as well as street markets and street food. There are numerous other vendors selling healthy vegan treats, organic foods, and clothing.
The Vegan & Plant Powered Show
The Vegan & Plant Powered Show in Capetown, South Africa, is another exciting event. In addition to incredible vegan food, this festival has live entertainment, shopping, and cooking demonstrations.
It focuses on being sustainable and eco-friendly, too. You can tantalize your tastebuds and be kind to the environment here.
Do you want to eat incredible vegan food? Take a masterclass from a celebrity chef? Attend a yoga session after your vegan wine walk? There is something here for everybody.
The Ahimsa Fest
The Ahimsa Fest in Mumbai, India, focuses on fitness and nutrition while eating plant-based foods. As you brows food stalls and cooking demonstrations, you can stop by a fitness event and get a workout in as well.
This festival is also very kid-friendly. There’s a massive kid zone with activities for young ones, and cooking demonstrations hosted by lesser privileged children. The cooking demos not only teach your child new skills, but also brings attention to privilege and inequality that’s all too common in vegan circles.
Bali Vegan Festival
The Bali Vegan Festival in Bali, Indonesia, has music, yoga, and food. It’s situated in gorgeous Ubud, Bali, and is a fantastic vegan experience.
While this festival was canceled in 2019 and 2020, it promises to come back for 2021.
These are just a few of the more popular vegan food festivals, and many more events are being organized each year. These festivals help spread the word about plant-based diets and give vegans an opportunity to get together, celebrate, and eat to their hearts’ content. You might even find something to bring home!
If you are planning to travel to any of these events make sure you plan ahead and prepare your stomachs as they will be more than impressed by some of the traditional vegan dishes served. *tf is this sentence??
